dimeRocker, in partnership with Unity Technologies and Telefilm's New Media Fund, invites you to the first Toronto Unity Users Group Networking Event!
The
Unity Users Group (UUG) is a not-for-profit community-building resource to inform
and connect Unity 3D developers -- and aspiring developers -- worldwide. Located online at www.UnityUsersGroup.com, the UUG delivers on its promise through
real-world networking events, keynote presentations, Q&A opportunities with
Unity founders and practical skills workshops.

Keynote Speaker
Tony Garcia, Unity 3D Business Development: A seasoned 26-year industry
veteran, Tony has held senior positions for such companies as Electronic
Arts, LucasFilm Games, and Microsoft. During his time at EA Seattle, he oversaw the
development of such leading franchises as Need for Speed, FIFA Soccer,
and Motor City Online. Tony has also been responsible for a string of
successful start-ups and won a diverse set of industry awards
for many of the products with which he has been involved.
Details
UUG’s
initial focus is on establishing and maintaining regional chapters in the key
game development cities of San Francisco, Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto, with
plans to branch out to other top locales soon thereafter. To kick off the Toronto chapter, UUG is hosting a premiere networking event on Tuesday, Nov. 10, followed the next day by a Unity Skills Development Workshop with Amir Ebrahimi, Unity Developer and Field Engineer.
The entire
initiative will be framed within a "web-ready" context, exploring how
tools like Unity are enabling developers to create, market and monetize
console-like browser content for a growing audience of online and
mobile gamers.
Admission for the networking event is $10. This includes a free drink, eats and a chance to win a Unity License (valued at $1,500)!
